HOPE IN THE WIND

Just a few weeks ago all headlines were about removal of Confederate symbolism.  The  growing rage of White extremists led to a fatal confrontation in Virginia. This reflected an escalation of American Tribal War: Black vs White, Conservatives vs Liberals, etc.

The leadership seemed focused, hell bent, on enacting laws to make America a place for “JUST US.

Then came Hurricane HARVEY. We had to help, pray and support  one another. Priorities had to shift. Then came IRMA. We have to keep on helping,  praying and supporting.

THE HURRICANES HAVE DISPLACED THE UNSETTLING NEWS OF HATE  IN THE HEADLINES.

I wonder if the Prophet Isaiah reflected on similar times

“Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the public squares, and uprightness cannot enter

He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no one to intercede; then his own arm brought him salvation, and his righteousness upheld him

[The Lord will come, Isaiah prophesied] like a RUSHING STREAM,  which the WIND of the Lord drives.”

Isaiah 59:14, 16, 19 ESV
